Plants

Underwater plants are great giver of oxygen to your fishes. There are instances when your fishes will need a shade, you can put lily pads or other similar plants if they will need one. When putting in plants into your fish pond, give time for the plants to adapt to their new environment before putting in your fishes. It's also ideal to build your pond away from a tree because of falling leaves, try to build it under a shade.
Equipment
If you want your pond to stay for a long time then investing to some equipment is a must. Your pond will need water aerator, ultraviolet sterilizer, water pump and filtration system.
